The Highway Observer Drive Recorder provides indisputable evidence in the event of an incident.
A lightweight, compact unit that is mounted onto the vehicle’s windscreen adjacent to the rear view mirror.
This compact digital video recorder is designed for recording events at
the front and rear (with the addition of a second camera VID-392) of the car.
This is done by continually recording the vehicles journey as it
travels along, recording images in a 640 x 480 resolution @ 24FPS/@Ch.
These images are then saved to an SD card (at least a 4GB SD card
supplied) that can be removed and plugged in to your PC via a card
reader (supplied) and played back.
- Built-in camera records high resolution 1.3 mega pixel video
- Optional 2nd camera input for recording a rear/alternative view
- Built-in GPS records speed and longitude/latitude position
- GPS position is updated once per second
- Built-in 3 axis G-Shock sensor, set between 0G and 5G via software supplied on the SD card
- Records on to a 4GB SD card (supplied) which is pre-formatted
with viewing software, SD cards up to 16GB are available through RSG
- Continuous record feature overwrites old data once the SD card is full (this feature can be de-activated)
- Supplied complete with SD card reader
- Encrypted data files can only be played back on the software supplied on the card reader
Power is supplied to the unit via the cigar plug socket, when the
ignition is started it will automatically begin recording after 20
seconds. To stop recording simply turn off your engine, and recording
will stop when the amber LED is extinguished. If your cigar plug is
supplied direct from the battery then you will have to ensure it is
unplugged at the end of your journey. Alternatively a permanent feed to
the ignition switch can be created.
Constantly stores front camera view - videos, voice, GPS location,
date and time onto an SD card (supplied). When the amount of recorded
data exceeds the capacity of the SD memory, the oldest files are
overwritten.
Ideal for:
- Duty of care reports
- Monitoring driver actions
- Accident/incident recording
- Driver Training
- Providing indisputable evidence in the event of an incident for insurance purposes
- Constant recording function
Event recording function
If the deceleration sensed by the G-sensor exceeds a specific limit,
or the user presses the emergency recording button, the video file
containing 15 seconds of data prior to the event and 15 seconds into
the event is automatically stored and transferred to the Event Movie
folder.
Video and voice data playing and analysing function
Using the software provided the user can play recorded video and easily
analyse velocity, co-ordinates, time and GPS location. Recorded video
files can be played at a maximum VGA of 640 x 480 pixels.
Optional 2nd camera (VID-392) for rear view recording
The addition of a 2nd camera means that events at the front and rear
(or the direction the cameras are facing) of the car will be recorded,
providing twice the evidential information.
